Lottery poetry, known as "Kau Chim" is a tradition that Chinese would do particularly during Chinese New Year. We digitalised the tradition with an enormous installation composed of 30 colourful lanterns. Visitors were asked to shake the chim sylinder, their results would then be displayed on the screen as a number with hints to direct them to find the corresponding lantern for the interpretation of poetry.

The whole structure are inspired begins with the Chinese windmill, develop into the layout plan of installation. “Windmills” are a symbol of luck in Chinese culture, which is a traditional culture at Chinese New Year and spinning it clockwise will bring luck to themselves.
